Obviously taking a page from Nintendo's playbook, Sony recently announced the PlayStation Classic which will offer up 20 games from the original console's lineup, though we don't know the full library quite yet.Ā
Returning to the Classics 1v6w
Following the new standard set by PlayStation controller, but there's no sign of the original Dualshock controller which was the first controller to have two analog sticks and came to the PlayStation further into the console's lifecycle. The inclusion of two controllers suggests that we could be seeing some quality multiplayer games coming to the console and speaking of games...

There are going to be 20 games pre-loaded onto the PlayStation Classic but there were only 5 announced so far,Ā Final Fantasy VII, TEKKEN 3, R4: Ridge Racer Type 4, Jumping Flash!,Ā andĀ Wild Arms. While there are 15 more games to be announced, this is an interesting list.Ā Final Fantasy VIIĀ is a must have andĀ TEKKENĀ andĀ Ridge Racer make sense but as awesome asĀ Wild Arms is, it's an odd addition to the lineup considering there's such limited space and I doubt anyone was hoping forĀ Jumping Flash! on there. There's more to come so don't worry, but this is an interesting list to announce the console with.

Just in time for Christmas, the PlayStation Classic is set to release on December 3rd for $129.99 in Canada and an even $100 in the US. I'd imagine that more games are coming in hot for announcements up until launch, so if you're hoping to see Crash Team Racing orĀ Metal Gear Solid or some other iconic PlayStation game I'd suggest keeping an eye on some inevitable game reveals that are coming down the road. Introducing PlayStation Classic 6d636h
While this console certainly feels like it's following in Nintendo's footsteps that's not a problem if you have a deep love of those classic PlayStation games. Of course, there are a few small features I'd wish for like the ability to sign into my PlayStation and earn trophies, connect online to add more PS1 games to the library, and it'd be awesome if these controllers could be used wirelessly though I understand the love for recreating that classic wired PlayStation experience.
